Red Corsairs

My New Year New Army project of 2024 was Chaos Space Marines.

Ever the non-conformist, however, I had to go with a warband rather than mainline chapter, and so we landed on the Red Corsairs.

I went through several versions of red paint before deciding on a vibrant, single-pigment option that provides the pop I always look for when putting down miniatures.

A lot of the army is (in my head) made up of loyalist marines who have abandoned their chapters following the Badab war, and so their armour is mostly clean with only the beginnings of warp taint affecting their gear - the shoulders, the helmets, and weapons the first to be transformed.

This was achieved by bashing together Mark VI kits (which are plentiful thanks to the Age of Darkness starter box), and odds and ends I've scraped together from Chosen kits and friends. Out of all my armies, it is by far the one I've had the most fun with in building and painting.

A painting guide on the Red Corsairs is in the works, but if you can paint a Blood Angel then you're pretty much good to go.
